With our younger generation of managers and leaders, the need for stronger interpersonal and relationship skills are required. With our more mature generation of managers and leaders, the need for better technology use and application is in demand.
This interactive workshop bridges the gaps and explores the characteristics of being a great manager and an effective supervisor in the digital age. Regardless of our title, we are all managers of a process, people, paper, or other aspects of an organization or business. This new age management program will review the necessity of management basics, such as active listening and delegation. We will learn new ideas for the new era, such as technology in performance management, diversity/inclusionary management, and supervising a remote workforce. I strongly encourage participants to use their video and mic/phone.
Everyone can learn to be a better manager through empathy, respect, and timeliness. You will learn the components of being a management professional with leadership characteristics, including competence, compatibility, and confidence. We will role play various scenarios from interviewing for a position to handling an irate customer on our Zoom session. We will develop ideas on the differences between a leader and a manager and where you fit. This workshop emphasizes and practices developing communication skills and using proper etiquette.
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Know best practices for managing/supervising,
- Communicate effectively to fellow managers, subordinates, and executives across generations,
- Properly use technology for performance management and delegation,
- Delegate appropriately with follow-up,
- Judge performance and resolve conflicts quickly,
